2nd Gen F-Body StreetGRIP & RQ-S Shock Install

Recently Kevin Tetz (Paintucation YouTube) finished up his pal Derek Bieri’s (Vice Grip Garage) 454 SS clone pickup build. That meant it was time to shuffle the deck and begin work on the next vehicle.

His not-so-affectionately titled “Garbage Camaro” is a 2nd Gen GM F-Body that is coming together over the next few episodes on the channel. And the first area of focus in this episode is to tackle refreshing the front suspension.

This time Kevin and Rodney (Suspension Geek) review and install one of our popular StreetGRIP systems for the 2nd Gen GM F-Body. Sure, if you’re looking for all out performance at the highest tier, our new MOMENTUM subframes are a great solution. But if you’re looking to keep the stock geometry of your 1970-1981 Camaro (or many other applications), Ridetech still has you covered with StreetGRIP.

StreetGRIP systems are comprised of upgraded springs, shocks, bushings, rear leaf springs and sway bars that improve the handling of your classic muscle car or truck beyond even what the factory blessed it with, all while retaining the stock geometry. Better yet, there is no welding or fabrication involved in the installation of these systems, making it something that you can do with a friend in your garage over a weekend.

But don’t take our word for it. Watch Kevin and Rodney knock it out on the Garbage Camaro. If you happen to be looking for parts for your 2nd Gen Camaro, follow the link to our application page for that platform below.

Happy wrenching!
