GoodGuys Columbus Report

It was a hot one last weekend at the GoodGuys Columbus show, but not hot enough to dissuade the thousands of hot rodders that showed up. As someone pointed out at the show, if there is any doubt to the dedication of the hot rodding community then they need only to look at the participants at Columbus who braved the 100+ degree weather just to see all the latest and greatest car builds.

We made a great showing with the 48 Hour Camaro on the autocross over the weekend, leading ALL competitors by a fair margin until very late on Saturday when a couple managed to catch up. The 48HourCamaro made it to the Pro Class shootout on Sunday where we led Sunday morning until our fuel pump died out. But our customers continued to do well. Brad Coomer, who was driving the loud white C10 equipped with Ridetech Triple Adjustable Coilovers, won the Goodguys Sponsor shootout AND the truck class. Other top running customers included Mark Rife’s 63 Corvette, Rob McGreagor with No Limit Engineering’s C10, Mike King’s 63 Tempest, Albert Melchior’s 70 Trans Am, and Kevin Babst’s 68 C10.

The booth was VERY busy all weekend… especially considering that many stayed in the shade by their cars. We weighed several cars and talked to hundreds customers. Everyone was in high spirits.
