Show Stopper 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS—ON AIR

Take a dive into the deep blue with Larry Palermini’s 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS. The ultra-clean A-body caught our eye this summer at the Goodguys Northwest Nationals in Puyallup, and we’re still thinking about it months later.

On Larry’s Camas, Washington-based Chevelle, less is more. Although the body is essentially stock, the Chevy’s color and stance bring it to the next level. When we spotted it at the Washington State Fairgrounds, the metallic sapphire paint glistened in the mid-summer sun.

Combine that with the spotless white interior—complete with wooden steering wheel—and you have a total showstopper.

Then there’s the stance. Larry got the hardtop sitting right with our HQ-series Shockwaves, front and rear StrongArms, tall spindles and MuscleBars. In the rolling stock department, he opted for 17-inch American Racing Torqlites wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. Wilwood brakes were used on all four corners.

Oh, and don’t let those 230 emblems on the front quarter panels deceive you. Larry swapped in a 350 Chevy with a 700R4, adding plenty of sport to this Malibu SS.
