Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour Day 4 Recap – “Day 4 took us from St. Louis to Memphis, Tennessee via many back roads surrounded by fields or corn. As we got closer to Tennessee the land started to have hills and roll. Even though we were mostly surrounded by corn, it was a gorgeous drive and the weather was ideal. When we arrived in Memphis, it quickly became miserable. The weather had suddenly decided to near 100 degrees and the sun wouldn’t give us a break. People were found scrambling for shade and hiding from the sun’s heat.
It was so warm that the asphalt started getting stickier and the tar was sticking to people’s shoes. Regardless, people were racing their cars in the quarter over and over again. After they shut down the drag racing for the day, they lined up over 100 cars to burnout simultaneously to break the record the Aussies recently set of 103 or so. After a lot of begging, Hot Rod managed to get over 110 people for the burnout. They crushed the Aussie record and now the Aussies will be aching to take the title back soon. We also cruised to Beale Street to an event sponsored by Comp Cams with a huge row of Power Tour cars parked along the street. Only a few days left now.. See everybody in Birmingham tomorrow!” – Kaleb
