It is official! We have finally finished the Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour long haul! We’ve driven 2,600+ miles so far and expect to pass 3,000 before we get back to Texas. Today we met at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Baton Rouge. There was a ton of parking space and they even had some spots under cover to hide from the rain as well. The rain wasn’t pouring down on us, but hitting in spotty areas. We witnessed the rain come very quickly and start pouring on a ’61 Caddy ‘vert in front of us. They pulled over so fast and got under cover to put the top on. I felt kind of bad for him, but he seemed prepared for the issue.
Tomorrow morning bright and early, we head back to the Expo Center for the Long Haulers ceremony. They’re giving away a few items, Long Haul plaques, and more. It’ll be kind of cool to have a big group of only long haulers parked together so see who the real hardcore guys are. Check back in tomorrow and I’ll have plenty of photos of the ceremony and hopefully show you a few of the lucky winners.
