Lucky’s 1964 Ridetech Equipped Chevelle Wagon

Most of you already know Lucky Costa from Hot Rod Garage. Over the years he has built some pretty rad vehicles with the likes of Tony Angelo (Stay Tuned YT) and Alex Taylor (Riding With Alex Taylor).  His 1966 Chevelle likely comes to mind as one well-built vehicle isn’t usually treated too gingerly.

Lucky’s Wagon already enjoys some pretty nice upgrades including an aluminum 6.0 GM LS powerplant with some ported Mongoose 243 cathedral-style heads, aftermarket headers, Holley’s Mid-Mount Accessory Drive, throttle body, single plane intake manifold and a Be Cool Radiator. Wilwood brakes bring the car to a halt much quicker than the OE equipment could ever hope. The car appears to be riding on some C5 Corvette take off wheels and tires presently.

The car already has a few suspension mods including entry level upper control arms and some drop spindles, but recently Lucky reached out to us and expressed interest in taking “Butternutz” to the next level in the suspension department. He looked no further than our complete coil-over suspension for the 1964-1967 GM A-Body and picked up the phone.

While you may very well be looking to upgrade a different application, we invite you to watch through this entire video as we take a similar comprehensive approach to each of the kits that we engineer. If you’re interested in upgrading your A-Body or classic car or truck to Ridetech suspension, this is a good overview of what to expect when it comes to the changeout and upgrade process.

Delrin bushings are used throughout in each upper and lower control arm where it mounts to the frame to prioritize noise free articulation as the suspension cycles. Paired with the Ridetech/Fox rebound adjustable coil-overs, Butternutz will be riding much more nicely in the California sun.

While it’s great to see the Chevelle on a premium suspension, we are looking forward to seeing what’s next for this rare two door wagon. We’ll keep you posted!
