I imagine that by now the fellas in Ford’s truck department could likely retire on the the sales of single cab short bed F-150s alone and enjoy the rest of their lives sipping margaritas on the beach. After all, they’re the only Big Three manufacturer that continues to manufacture a truck in that configuration and the enthusiast segment of the market has embraced it in the best way possible.
The formula for a fast street truck these days is simple and goes like this:
- Order RCSB F150 w/Coyote engine package from dealer (4WD preferred, but 2WD would still be a hoot)
- Order Whipple, Magnuson or blower of your choice
- Order Ridetech drop kit
- Order cool wheels & sticky 200 TW tires or DOT drag tires
- Receive truck and said parts
- Install components and tune truck.
- Enjoy your new 800+ horsepower at the flywheel rocketship and hang on for dear life!
While somewhat simplified, that really is about it as these trucks are stout, respond well to power, and look the part.
