Here at RideTech, we are consistently amazed at all of the awesome and varied builds we find our customers doing, and this is no exception! Greenspeed Research, founded by Dave Schenker, provides students with the opportunity to gain real life experience in an interdisciplinary environment while designing, building, and racing a vegetable oil-powered vehicle. That’s right, vegetable oil! By bringing pure vegetable oil as a fuel to the racing community, the team hopes to help familiarize the public with a variety of alternative fuels and prove how well they can work. And that’s exactly what they’re doing! This week, Greenspeed is setting records at the Bonneville Salt Flats with their RideTech-equipped, vegetable-oil powered S10. They are now officially the first vehicle on the planet to drive above 200mph on 100% vegetable oil! Next on their list is a strong attempt to beat the same record in the diesel world today, so stay tuned to their Facebook page for updates!
