VIDEO | Ridetech Sway Bars Install on Boosted Motorsports Z06

If you’ve been following along, by now you’ve realized that Boosted Motorsports has gone full Ridetech suspension on his C5 Z06. When he reached out to us about the project we were excited because it’s been a while since we had developed our product line on these cars and it’s exciting to see new content being produced for a vehicle platform and performance solution that just plain works!

On the last two videos John has installed our Delrin Control Arm Bushing Kit and our triple adjustable TQ coil-overs on the car. This time around he’s replacing the factory sway bars and end links with beefed up Ridetech components.

When it comes to sway bars, the factory bars were designed to appeal to the widest applicable range of customers for the car. Thankfully, our customers are come to us looking specifically for improved handling so we are able to ramp things up a bit more.

The factory C5 front sway bar measures out to a bar rate of 120 ft-lbs., while the Z06 OE bar measured out at 315 ft-lbs. Our Ridetech bar measures in at a 1.375” overall diameter and utilizes .25” wall thickness construction. The fixed bar rate is 655 ft-lbs. in the front, an increase of over 200% in bar rate over the factory Z06 bar.

Out back the factory base model Vette sway bar measures 97 ft-lbs. The Z06 OE bar measured 260 ft-lbs. The Ridetech bar measures in at 1” in diameter and is made from .156” wall material. It enjoys a variable rate thanks to a repositionable, clamp-on end link mount, giving it an adjustable three-setting range of 400, 500, & 775 ft-lb.s of bar rate. Sliding the end-link mount inward (further from the end of the bar) increases the bar rate.

These rates are significantly higher and give the autocross or track day enthusiast a lot more anti-roll capability and adjustability to change the balance of the car depending on course being ran and the overall vehicle setup/driver preference.

Now that John’s Z06 is fully on Ridetech suspension, we look forward to seeing initial impressions and how he ultimately decides to dial-in the car to his preferences. John typically campaigns the car at events like Holley’s LS Fest Series, Gridlife and other track day style events. We think he’ll fare pretty well!
