800 HP IRS Equipped Fox Body Tour w/Larry Chen

If you’ve seen one Fox Body, you’ve seen’m all, right? WRONG!

We caught up with automotive lifestyle and motorsports photographer Larry Chen at HyperFest and gave him a tour of our recently developed Fox Body race car! That event was the car’s first outing and it’s coming to an event near you as we continue fine-tuning the platform.

The minutes added up to hours and the hours added up to days as the Ridetech team pushed to get our Fox Body development vehicle ready for it’s first track outing. It has been one of the primary vehicles we’ve been developing and testing our front SLA suspension and our soon to be released rear IRS conversion.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Hyperfest is a multi-discipline motorsport festival that takes place annually at Virginia International Raceway just outside of Danville, VA. Events like this are great as they blend together all aspects of motorsport; road course, drifting, off-roading, rally racing, car show, NASA HPDE track day sessions, and wheel-to-wheel competition at one of the most prestigious road courses in the nation.

It doesn’t matter what you drive at this event; import, domestic, front wheel drive or right wheel drive, they’re all welcome and as a result the event has grown almost annually since it’s inception over 20+ years ago.

After several track sessions, we came away from the weekend with a lot of positive information about how to enhance the car’s already stellar performance. Updated spring rates in the front, brake pad compound changes, ride height adjustments and a fresh alignment and corner balancing will make for a much improved experience behind the wheel at future events.

We won’t say much more as you’re probably already watching the video above anyhow. Fine by us! Enjoy and we’ll see you at the track sometime this summer.

Stoked on this car and want to read more about it. Start at the beginning here!

Special thanks to our partners on the build, including Haltech, Forgeline, Wilwood, Ultimate Headers, KUMHO tire, and Bowler Transmission.
