Boosted Motorsports C5 Z06 Coilover Install

We’re back with another installment on the Boosted Motorsports C5 Z06. 

When John acquired this Vette it was exciting to see that it already had a ProCharger installed, making it even more easy to overpower the rear tires of the car. That said, while the car came with some solid aftermarket components, it also had a few areas that needed attention. From faulty fuel pumps to worn out suspension components, several things needed to be addressed before the car saw its first track day. 

On the last episode John covered the installation of our Ridetech Control Arm Bushing kit. This time around, he covers the process of replacing the Corvettes factory mono-leaf suspension with a set of our Triple Adjustable TQ (Track Quality) coilovers for the popular platform. 

Admittedly, most Vettes that will primarily see street use will be more suited to our single adjustable HQ rebound adjustable coilovers. However, John is going to be tracking this Vette regularly, and has a background in fine-tuning suspension, so his Z06 will benefit from the added tunability. Ridetech TQ coilovers feature both low-speed and high-speed compression adjustability in addition to rebound adjustability. 

The benefit of high-speed adjustment allows for independent tuning of impact harshness from low-speed adjustment, which affects cornering characteristics. All in all, TQ coilovers are an ideal upgrade when you’re looking to truly extract the best possible times from a vehicle around an autocross or road course.

Each of these areas of adjustment has 24 clicks of adjustability so it is easy to see how one could get out of sorts while tuning a car with such a wide tuning envelope. That said, John will be covering how he goes about dialing in the car from a baseline to where the car handles best in a future episode.
